Why Telegram blocks adult content
Telegram blocks certain channels and chats that contain 18+ material when it detects explicit content or when the device/app uses the default security settings.
This happens especially on iPhone, on some Android models, or on apps downloaded from the official store.
How to unlock 18+ Telegram channels
To view any age-restricted channel you must disable the Sensitive Content filter.
This option only appears if:
your account is verified
you use the correct version of the app
you enable the “Sensitive Content” section on the web
Unlocking adult Telegram channels on iPhone (iOS)
On iPhone, Telegram almost always blocks adult content automatically.
To unlock it:
Open Safari and go to: https://my.telegram.org/auth
Log in
Go to Privacy and Security
Enable “Sensitive Content”
Restart the Telegram app
⚠️ You will never see the option inside the iOS app — you must enable it from the web.
Unlocking adult Telegram channels on Android
Android makes it easier to view adult content on Telegram:
Open Telegram
Tap Settings → Privacy and Security
Enable “Sensitive Content”
Restart the Telegram app
If the option is missing, install the “APK” version of Telegram from the official website.
The Play Store version sometimes censors 18+ content.
What to do if it still doesn’t work
If adult channels remain blocked, try:
Logging out and back in
Clearing app cache and data
Installing Telegram from the official website (not from the store)
Disabling safe DNS / VPN filters
Checking that Apple/Google parental controls are not enabled
